FAQ
Working with BeKubed
Straight answers about early conversations, confidentiality, AI, scope, ownership and what happens after a prototype.
Do I need a full specification before contacting you?
No. The free project assessment is designed to help shape rough ideas into something easier to discuss.
Do I need to share my secret idea?
No. Start with the problem, audience, workflow and outcome. Sensitive details can wait until there is trust in place.
Will you sign an NDA?
Where appropriate, yes. Most early conversations do not need one, but sensitive commercial or technical details can be handled under NDA.
Is this cheaper because you use AI?
AI helps move faster, especially during exploration and prototyping. The value still comes from experience, judgement, architecture, deployment and accountability.
Can you build an MVP?
Yes, if the scope is focused. BeKubed is best suited to lean MVPs, prototypes, internal tools and focused product builds.
Can you work with existing systems?
Yes. Integrations and legacy systems may need a discovery phase before a fixed price can be agreed.
Could I not just build it myself with an AI app builder?
You can, and for exploring an idea tools like Base44, Lovable and Bolt are genuinely useful. They tend to hit walls once real users arrive: security, data modelling, integrations, performance and maintenance. BeKubed uses AI heavily too - the difference is senior engineering judgement, production architecture and someone accountable when things break. If you have already built something in one of these tools, it can often be reviewed, hardened or rebuilt properly as part of a sprint.
Who hosts the finished project?
Either you or BeKubed. The recommended route is hosting under your own accounts, set up as part of handover, so you keep full ownership and control. Alternatively, BeKubed can manage hosting and infrastructure for you for an agreed monthly fee. UK/EU hosting is used wherever possible.
What does it cost to run after launch?
Infrastructure for most small products costs roughly £10-£100 per month depending on usage, paid directly to the providers. Optional care plans covering monitoring, updates, backups and small fixes are available from around £95 per month. Running costs are agreed clearly before launch, so there are no surprises.
Do I own the code?
This depends on the engagement, but for most build projects the intended outcome is that the client owns or receives the agreed source code and handover materials.
What happens after a prototype?
You can test it, use it for demos, pause, extend it, rebuild parts properly, or move into a product sprint.
Can you build mobile apps?
Yes, depending on requirements. Some ideas are better as responsive web apps first; others justify native or cross-platform mobile development.
Can you help with AI features?
Yes, where AI genuinely improves the workflow. BeKubed can help with AI-assisted workflows, automation, summarisation, classification, internal tools and product features.
What kind of projects are not a good fit?
Very vague ideas with no clear user, projects looking only for the cheapest possible build, or large enterprise programmes requiring a full agency team from day one.
How quickly can we start?
This depends on availability and project size. The project assessment is the best first step.
